Abstract
Entrepreneurial intentions have been extensively researched in the West but the question of their applicability in the local setting still remains. Intention on entrepreneurship in Indonesia especially Pekanbaru still unclear. The purpose of this paper is to assess the entrepreneurial intentions among Pekanbaru Millennial Generation (20-39 years old) based on Theory of Entrepreneurial Event Model (EEM) by Shapero and Sokol. Using data from 100 respondents with random purposive sampling and analyzed with Multiple Linear Regression method this study found that Entrepreneurial intentions among Pekanbaru’ Millennial were significantly come from perceived desirability, perceived feasibility, and propensity to act. Perceived feasibility was found to be stronger predictor than perceived desirability and propensity to act in determining Entrepreneurial Intentions amongst Millennial in Pekanbaru. Results show Entrepreneurial Event Model variable that used in this study explain 68% of entrepreneurial intentions. This research has limitation regarding sampling, variable measurement and understanding the influence of EEM.Â
