Abstract


ABSTRAK

                 Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh board independence dan state ownership terhadap firm performance. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada perusahaan sektor property, real estate, and building construction yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2014-2017. Penelitian ini menggunakan purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 49 perusahaan. Jenis data yang digunakan  adalah data kuantitatif dan sumber data diambil dari laporan keuangan tahunan perusahaan. Statistik deskriptif dan regresi data panel digunakan sebagai alat analisis data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa board independence berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan, state ownership berpengaruh negatif namun tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan, dan interaksi antara board independence dan state ownership berpengaruh positif namun tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan.

ABSTRACT

                 This study aimed to analyze the effect of board independence and state ownership on firm performance. This research was conducted on property, real estate, and building construction sector firm listed on Indonesia stock Exchange in 2014 to 2017 period. This study utilitized a purposive sampling with a total sample of 49 firms. The type of data was a quantitative data and data source was gained from annual financial statements firm. Descriptive statistic and data regression was used as data analysis instruments. The result of this study indicated that board independence had a positive significant effect on firm performance, state ownership had a negative but not significant effect on firm performance, and interaction between board independence and state owner had a positive but not significant effect on firm performance.
